On the morning of October 18th, Mesa residents are invited to Red Mountain Library for a philanthropic event that serves both the community and book lovers alike. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., locals can take part in Donate Day, a drive-through donation initiative designed to easily and swiftly gather books, magazines, movies, and music from community members—all without leaving their cars. In an effort to streamline the process and promote a spirit of giving, volunteers will be on hand to readily assist with unloading donations.
The materials collected will go not only to fill the shelves but also to support library programs and services, with sales from these contributions occurring in the library’s very own used bookstores. According to a statement obtained by MesaNow, "100% of the proceeds stay with the library to support community programs," highlighting an urgent need for community support to perpetuate much-needed library services. Mesa Public Library has future Donate Days lined up, providing additional opportunities for residents to give back.
Upcoming Donate Days include November 15 at Dobson Ranch Library, January 10, 2026, and March 14, 2026, at Red Mountain Library, with a February 21, 2026, event at the Main Library. Small and large donors alike are encouraged to participate. However, those with hefty donations exceeding four file-sized boxes are kindly asked to reach out to arrange a separate drop-off time, ensuring the efficient processing of large contributions.
