Following a severe traffic collision on the N. Sam Houston Tollway earlier this week, the driver responsible has been taken into custody after exhibiting violent behavior towards law enforcement at a local hospital. Constable Mark Herman's Office revealed that deputies were dispatched to the 5100 block of the tollway last Thursday, responding to the scene of a major accident.
Identified as Claire Denise Ihfe, the crash's at-fault driver displayed clear signs of intoxication, which resulted in her subsequent transport to a healthcare facility for injuries. While at the hospital, Ihfe's demeanor turned aggressive, resulting in an altercation with a deputy. In her state of resistance, she managed to kick a deputy, inflicting pain upon the officer, according to the constable's social media update.
In the aftermath of the incident, a legal mandate was secured, and a blood specimen was drawn from Ihfe to determine her level of intoxication. Constable Herman's Office issued a statement detailing the fallout: "Claire Denise Ihfe was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated and Assault on a Peace Officer. Her total bond was set at $7,600.00 out of the 209th District Court and County Court 4."
