A crash in Largo linked to suspected DUI resulted in the death of an 18-year-old and the arrest of the driver, who now faces DUI manslaughter charges. WFLA reports that yesterday, a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Arael Vaquero struck two stationary objects while traveling at high speed on 58th Street North, killing passenger David Salazar-Castillo.
Authorities stated that Vaquero was believed to be impaired at the time of the crash. Officers from the Largo Police Department responding to the scene found a single-vehicle accident. As per FOX 13, the specific objects struck in the incident have not been identified.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash. Vaquero remains in police custody at the hospital, and information about his injuries has not been disclosed.
