
A car crash in Northeast Raleigh today left three people hospitalized after their vehicle crashed into a fence and wooded area. According to ABC11, the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of E. Millbrook and Hargrove roads, where the car was found having smashed through a fence.
As reported by WRAL, the driver was reportedly speeding before the crash. The vehicle also damaged a traffic control sensor near a bus stop where children wait, raising concerns about the impact on students' commute. It is not yet clear when the sensor will be repaired.
The driver has been charged with driving while impaired, careless driving, and reckless driving in connection with the crash. All three people in the car were taken to the hospital with injuries reported as non-life-threatening, as per CBS 17. The Raleigh Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the crash, which ended with the car not only bringing down the fence, but also crashing into trees.
The high-speed crash caused significant damage to the vehicle. WRAL's Breaking News Tracker reported that a tow truck spent about 45 minutes removing the car from the woods. The Raleigh Police Department has not released the driver’s name but has filed charges related to the incident.
