A car accident in The Woodlands on Tuesday night left a driver seriously injured after their vehicle was split in half. KHOU reported that the Woodlands Fire Department was called to the scene on Research Forest between Crownridge and Rockledge around 11:30 p.m. after reports of a collision with a trapped driver.

Emergency crews responded to a crash where a driver was trapped in a split-apart vehicle. "Utilizing hydraulic rescue tools firefighters were able to quickly free the driver from the wreckage and transfer him to MCHD medics," according to the Woodlands Fire Department on their Facebook page. The driver was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Woodlands Fire Department, Montgomery County Hospital District, and Montgomery County ESD No. 10/Magnolia Fire Department all worked at the scene.

"The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and DPS are investigating the crash as a possible street racing incident," the authorities said, as mentioned by KHOU. The identities of those involved have not been released, and the condition of the injured person has not been updated. Officials are continuing to investigate the incident.
