Durham County Sheriff Clarence F. Birkhead has announced the launch of a new mobile application and a community survey aimed at improving communication and transparency between law enforcement and residents, according to the Durham County Sheriff’s Office.

The DCSO App, now available on the Google Play Store and the App Store, provides real-time updates, emergency notifications, and tools for residents to report tips or concerns. Sheriff Birkhead noted that the mobile platform is designed to help the department connect more efficiently with the public in today’s digital environment.

In addition to the app, the Sheriff’s Office has introduced an online survey to gather feedback from Durham County residents. The survey, available until October 22, will help the department assess public perception and align its operations with community expectations as part of its commitment to meeting accreditation standards. Residents can access the survey and learn more about both initiatives through the Durham County Sheriff’s official website.
