Earlier today, a fire occurred on the 10th floor of the James A. Bland Houses, a NYCHA apartment complex in Flushing, Queens, waking residents. According to Eyewitness News, the fire, which started around 2:15 a.m., resulted in four individuals being transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Residents who evacuated the building observed emergency crews working from outside the complex. Most were permitted to return to their apartments around 4:30 a.m., once the area was secured.
Patch reports that fire marshals are involved in the ongoing investigation to establish whether the e-bike played a part in the fire at the building located at 40-25 College Point Blvd.
