Get ready to cast your ballots, locals! Early voting for the Municipal and Mooresville Graded School District (MGSD) Elections is set to commence on October 16 , offering voters a jump-start ahead of Election Day on November 4th. If you're a resident within the city limits of Statesville, Mooresville, Troutman, or Davidson—or you live within the MGSD school district—you're eligible to make your voice heard ahead of the pack, as per Iredell County's release.
While Harmony and Love Valley residents will have to wait for the even years to come around for their elections, those gearing up to vote early should mark their calendars and prepare to take advantage of this opportunity. Marking this critical civic engagement just became a tad easier with a requirement adjustment. Voters in North Carolina will no longer be strictly mandated to show a photo ID at the polls. Although IDs can still be obtained free of charge from the county board of elections office, all voters will be allowed to confidently cast their votes with or without an ID. For those unable to present one, the safety net of a provisional ballot remains in place.
