Eden Prairie residents looking to shake up their fitness routine can now mark their calendars for a series of November events at the local Community Center. The center has announced a range of activities from free fitness classes to festive aquatic fun, as laid out in their latest bulletin. Among the highlights is the "Fall Into Fitness" event on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 8 a.m. to noon, which is open to everyone eager to try out various group fitness classes and the bonus of winning prizes.
For those thinking about joining the Community Center, there's an opportunity to save on enrollment fees. New members can waive the $0 enrollment fee, while returning members receive $10 off their enrollment fee during the Fall Access Week from Nov. 16-22. In the spirit of Halloween, the "Spooky Skate" offers a thrilling ice experience on Saturday, Oct. 25, complete with Halloween themes and an encouragement for costumes. Kids can join from noon to 1:15 p.m., followed by an Open Skate session for all ages until 3:15 p.m., with skate rentals available at $5.
Yoga aficionados might find solace in "Candlelight Yin Yoga" sessions scheduled for Sundays starting Oct. 26, going through Dec. 7. Likewise, an auditory reprieve is available with the "Sound Bath" on Friday, Nov. 14, designed to utilize sound waves for a full-body relaxation experience.
The "Pumpkin Splash" event on Friday, Oct. 24, invites kids to pick and decorate pumpkins, then enjoy a swim. On Nov. 22, the "Gobble Games" beckon children to indulge in festive pool games, crafts, and win prizes, fitting for the Thanksgiving season. Each event requires pre-registration to ensure a spot, and the necessary materials, such as a pumpkin for decoration, are provided.
Regulars at the Community Center should note some scheduled maintenance closures, like the hot tub's temporary closure on Nov. 11 and 25 from 8-10 p.m. and during the Aqua Flow class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-8:15 a.m. Additionally, the center will be closed on Nov. 27 in observance of the holiday.
