
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is currently investigating a deadly collision that occurred in the Hickory Grove Division. The accident happened on the evening of Saturday, October 11, just past 6 p.m., near the 8500 block of Lawyers Road, as confirmed in a report published by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's newsroom.
Responding to a report of a crash with injuries, CMPD officers arrived to find a severely damaged Honda SUV and its driver, 53-year-old Todd Alan Bradley. Nearby was also a Ford pickup truck with damage, operated by Kabria Shanice Diaz, 32, and accompanied by passenger Samuel Diaz, 34. Although the Diazes declined medical attention, MEDIC transported Mr. Bradley to the hospital where, unfortunately, he later died from his injuries. Sources aim to quickly ascertain what led to Mr. Bradley to suddenly veer across the median and injustice was dealt by the unforgiving force of a head-on collision.
The investigation so far has not suggested that speed or impairment were factors for either driver involved in the fatal incident. This detail was gleaned from the information provided by CMPD's initial findings. The loss is certainly being felt by the family of Mr. Bradley, whose next of kin have been notified.
