
A head-on collision in Waterford Township left one person dead yesterday morning. The crash happened around 10:45 a.m. on Cooley Lake Road near McDougal Street and involved a Ford Escape and a Waterford Township Department of Public Works bucket truck, according to CBS News Detroit.
ClickOnDetroit reported that the Ford Escape, driven by a 66-year-old woman, was traveling eastbound when it crossed the center line and struck the westbound bucket truck. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver was not injured. Police stated that drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.
Waterford Township issued a statement on its official website expressing condolences to the victim’s family and friends. Following the crash, the Waterford Citizens Emergency Response Team assisted with traffic control while police investigated.
