Tragedy struck Norwich Township yesterday when heavy rain contributed to a deadly collision on Feder Road. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office reported that a 2006 Kia Spectra spun out of control and was hit by a 2025 Toyota Tacoma. ABC6 News noted the incident occurred northwest of Columbus, resulting in the Kia driver's fatality at the scene. An unfortunate twist of fate dictated by the whims of nature and timing.
Deputies and medics promptly attended to the grisly scene, Sheriff Dallas Baldwin told The Columbus Dispatch. The driver of the Tacoma was transported to Doctors Hospital in stable condition. Meanwhile, Norwich Township's Engine 82 officially pronounced the Kia driver dead shortly after their arrival.
The crash remains an open investigation as the authorities piece together the sequence of events that led to the accident. The Sheriff’s Office is appealing to the public for any witnesses or those with pertinent information to come forward. "Anyone with additional information is asked to please contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit," a representative stated to WBNS.
