In the incident, which occurred around 2:15 a.m., a male passenger, also in his twenties, sustained major injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital, as reported by ABC10.
The aftermath of the crash resulted in the closure of the right lanes of eastbound I-80, impeding the morning commute as authorities conducted their investigations and worked on clearing the wreckage, the California Highway Patrol’s Solano division confirmed; these developments caused significant delays and drivers were advised to anticipate extended commuting times or to seek alternate routes.
Further details from CBS Sacramento indicated that the area had experienced an early-season storm that left roads dangerously slick, which may have been a factor in the accident.
