A Fayette County woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of robberies, according to state police. Lori Rankin, 39, of Butler, was apprehended after authorities linked her to attempted and successful thefts in the Connellsville area.

According to WPXI, state police reported Rankin initially attempted to rob a 19-year-old man on Memorial Boulevard before targeting a Dunkin Donuts location. It was during her swift escape down U.S. Route 119 that troopers managed to quickly identify and stop Rankin's vehicle, leading to her detention. The suspect confessed to both these crimes and an additional robbery in Uniontown the previous day.

Following the arrests, details emerged about the charges against Rankin. These consist of accusations of robbery out of Connellsville Township and Connellsville City. Moreover, she faces charges of theft and receiving stolen property in Connellsville, as reported by WTAE. These allegations stem from what turned out to be a concisely executed string of robberies over two days.

Rather than set bail, the courts opted to imprison Rankin in the Fayette County Jail.
