Gearing up for a family-friendly Halloween, the Folsom Police Department, along with Folsom FD, is hosting a trunk-or-treat event aimed at providing a safe and fun environment for children to collect sweets and meet their local heroes. The event, scheduled for Saturday, October 25, from 10 AM to 1 PM, is set to take place at the Folsom Police Department, located at 46 Natoma Street.
Participants are encouraged to come in costume—but to leave any masks or weapon-like accessories at home—to fully enjoy the festivities. The announcement, made via Facebook, welcomes families to come dressed "to impress" as they collect candy and get to up close view police and fire vehicles. The free entry event is designed to warmly engage with the community, offering ample parking at the nearby Folsom City Hall at 50 Natoma Street.
Emphasizing the safety aspect, the Folsom PD and Fire are collaborating to ensure that the event not only entertains but also educates families in a community-building atmosphere. The trunk-or-treat provides a controlled and secure setting for children to partake in Halloween traditions, serving as an alternative to neighborhood door-to-door visitations.
