Folsom residents and contractors looking to cut through the bureaucratic red tape got good news this week. Starting October 20, the City of Folsom is set to streamline its permit process with a new online platform, eTRAKiT. This web portal will become the one-stop shop for applications, plan reviews, permit issuances, and even inspections.

Moving to eTRAKiT means an end to the fragmented and often convoluted process previously in play. Users will no longer need to upload drawings and documents as separate files, reducing confusion and saving time. However, it should be noted that any plan reviews that have commenced before the switch will remain under the existing system, ProjectDox, until fully approved. From October 20 onward, all new submissions must funnel through the eTRAKiT system.

For those eager to get ahead of the curve, the City of Folsom's ePermit Center is offering a sneak peek at the new procedures before the official launch date. This preview can offer users a chance to familiarize themselves with the new system's layout and features, ideally smoothing out any learning bumps when the transition occurs.
