The wheels of justice keep turning as the Oregon Department of Justice sets its focus on former West Linn physician David Farley, facing an 11-felony charge indictment involving three victims. According to the Oregon DOJ, the charges were brought forward after a Clackamas County grand jury harrowing tales reaching the public's consciousness.
It all began back in December 2024 when the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office flagged the case for the Oregon DOJ, or rather, they dropped the grim tapestry of alleged misdeeds on the state's doorstep; thus sparking an investigation that culminated in the grand jury's session on Oct. 2–3, and saw Farley arraigned at the Clackamas County Courthouse. Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield noted survivors and their families' "remarkable courage," an indictment on the need for justice to serve not as blind arbiters, but as bulwarks against the perversion of trust and protectors of the aggrieved.
"This indictment reflects our commitment to justice," Rayfield publicly stated, adding gravitas to the pursuit of accountability, especially for those who wield authority in such ways that harm those they are meant to serve, according to the press release. Meanwhile, Clackamas County District Attorney John Wentworth, hinging his request for DOJ involvement on the perturbing nature of the allegations, expressed his lifelong dedication to victim advocacy and the unyielding search for justice.
