Fort Worth is stepping up its eco-game with the recent proclamation from the City Council celebrating November 15 as America Recycles Day, a time marked by educational fanfare and a collective nudge towards a greener future. According to the City of Fort Worth's official announcement, families and residents are invited to partake in an array of activities aimed at bolstering the community's commitment to sustainable living.
On the agenda for November 15, from 10 a.m. to noon, are hands-on learning and interactive booths at Golden Triangle Library on Golden Triangle Blvd and Vivian J. Lincoln Library on McCart Ave, these forms of engagement strive to deepen our comprehension of recycling's vital role in our daily lives, as attendees can earn treats for their efforts and pledge to be steadfast recyclers. Not just a day-long affair, the city has a roster of recyclable-themed events, including arts and crafts and more, scheduled throughout the preceding week, setting the stage for a grand observance of our relationship with the resources we so often take for granted.
The city isn't alone in its efforts; the Fort Worth Public Library and the Environmental Services Department are teaming up to drive the message home with events at multiple libraries leading up to the main celebrations. Kids can indulge in story hours tailored around recycling, among other activities, highlighting the recyclables' journey from our blue bins to their reincarnations and beyond.
