According to a report by the City of Fort Worth, the area has a population of 3,309, with a median household income stalled at $35K and a staggering unemployment rate hitting 45.3%. The neighborhood is in the clutch of a 41.7% poverty rate, and only 2.2% of its residents have achieved a bachelor's degree or higher—an educational disparity that casts a long shadow over prospects.
As part of the program's approach, community members are invited to voice their ideas and concerns, effectively shaping the initiatives that will roll out across New Mitchell.
