
Early Sunday morning took a dangerous turn for one D.C. resident when an attempted armed carjacking unfolded in the Northeast quadrant of the city. The Metropolitan Police Department reports that the incident occurred on October 19, 2025, at approximately 4:40 a.m. in the 4200 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast. The victim, while seated in their vehicle, was abruptly approached by suspects. One individual assaulted the victim and attempted to take the vehicle by force.
However, in a moment of quick thinking, the victim managed protective action by rolling up the window and escaping the scene by driving away. It turned out to be a fortunate escape as the suspects were unable to steal any property. Following a thorough investigation by detectives, several arrests have been made in connection with the violent incident.
According to an official statement from the MPD on October 21st, three 14-year-old males have been taken into custody. Two of the juveniles hail from Southeast D.C., with the third of no fixed address. A fourth suspect, a 15-year-old male from Northeast D.C., was also apprehended. Each has been charged with Armed Carjacking, which is an offense that carries serious implications, especially given their young ages.
