The Gastonia Police Department announced the arrest of Eben Hellekson on two counts of larceny. He is accused of stealing from the Ace Hardware store on Neal Hawkins Road. In a social media post, the department credited Officer Moretz for leading the investigation.
The store’s owners and employees stated that Hellekson had been involved in prior incidents at the business. The Gastonia Police Department reported that he repeatedly targeted the hardware store and gave a full confession following his arrest. He is currently in custody at the Gaston County Jail.
