
A 61-year-old woman was found shot to death in her kitchen on Friday morning in north Spring, and her 27-year-old granddaughter is being questioned in connection with the shooting. HCSO Homicide Sgt. Greg Pinkins said, "There's no indication of any type of robbery, no forced entry," and no other individuals were at the scene, according to KHOU.
Authorities were called after a pool-cleaning worker heard gunshots at the Hannover Forest Drive home near Foster Road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the granddaughter remains in custody for questioning, as reported by Click2Houston.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide, and the weapon used has been recovered. The identities of the victim and her granddaughter have not been released. Evidence will be reviewed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to determine possible charges. Constable Mark Herman said, "Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones during this tragic time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers," as mentioned by KHOU. Officials are asking anyone with information to come forward.
