Hawai‘i Island police are on the lookout for two male suspects involved in a string of burglaries, including one at a church in Nā‘ālehu. The crime at the church took place in the dim hours before dawn on Tuesday, September 16. According to the Hawaiʻi Police Department official police report, the suspects were dressed in hoodies with their faces partially obscured, an image captured clearly on the church's video surveillance.
The Nā‘ālehu community has been shaken by multiple incidents with cash and personal items being taken from vacant buildings throughout September. The Hawaiʻi Police Department have now decided to actively seek help from the public to possibly identify these suspects, as they were distinctly filmed in the act. The video of the September 16 incident is rare visual evidence amongst these cases, hoping it can lead to a breakthrough.
