Hickory, NC – In a deadly encounter leaving one dead and another injured, the Hickory Police made progress in their homicide investigation by arresting a suspect involved in a recent shooting.
The incident, which unfolded on Friday at around 11:13 p.m. in the Windy City Sundries' back parking lot at 1129 2nd St NE, was swiftly attended to by Hickory Police Officers who found two individuals with gunshot wounds, one of whom was Hickory resident Corbin Noah Davis, 24, succumbing to his injuries and pronounced dead at the scene, and Tanner Allen Hutchinson, 23, also of Hickory, was rushed to the hospital where he received treatment for injuries not considered life-threatening.
Investigators quickly identified 23-year-old Lamonte Keshawn Ramseur from Newton as the suspect, establishing that the victims and suspect were acquainted; following the discovery of evidence, a murder warrant was obtained for Ramseur's arrest, who was later apprehended with support from the Catawba County Sheriff's Office and the Newton Police Department, as reported by the Hickory Police Department.
