Hillsborough County is updating its roads in preparation for population growth. The Florida Department of Transportation projects that nearly a million additional residents will move into the county by 2070. Updates to the Corridor Preservation Plan (CPP), part of the county's Comprehensive Plan, are underway to determine the scale and location of future roads. Hillsborough County stated that these roadways are designed to serve the projected population.
The Corridor Preservation Plan is being updated with public input. In July, local leaders and residents met to discuss the plan, and feedback from that meeting has been incorporated into the next version. From tomorrow through November 30, residents can submit comments and suggestions online. The process is intended to gather public input and provide a channel for communication between the county and residents.
Feedback from residents during July’s sessions has been included in adjustments to the plan. Hillsborough County is considering this input as it continues to update its transportation strategy. The latest information on the Corridor Preservation Plan update is available on Hillsborough County’s website.
