Hillsborough County has opened applications for its Neighborhood Mini-Grant Program, which offers up to $5,000 for community projects. According to the Hillsborough County’s announcement, the grants support initiatives that strengthen and engage neighborhoods through innovative and creative projects.

Previous recipients have used the funding for a variety of efforts, including community art events and the creation of green spaces. Examples include Palma Ceia Neighborhood Association’s pop-up art showcase promoting local businesses and Magnolia Lakes POA’s development of a peace garden.

For 2026, projects fall into three categories: Healthy Neighborhood for wellness and environmental initiatives, Safe Neighborhood for safety education, and Engaged Neighborhood for community connection activities.

Neighborhood associations must meet eligibility requirements and submit applications for consideration. The application period is now open, giving organizations time to plan and propose projects that enhance their communities.
