Authorities in Houston have identified 44-year-old Jeremy Glen Carnes as the man found hanging and partially burned beneath the 610 North Loop East freeway near Kirkpatrick Boulevard last Thursday. Union Pacific workers initially reported the incident after mistaking the fire for a brush blaze, leading firefighters to discover the disturbing scene under the overpass.
Houston Police are investigating the case as a homicide, with Lt. Khan describing the death as “highly unlikely, almost impossible” to be a suicide. “The manner and cause of death remain pending as the medical examiner's office continues its investigation,” officials stated, as the community and Carnes’ family await further answers, according to KHOU.
