
A homicide investigation is underway in south Charlotte after a shooting near the Archdale light rail station last night. WBTV reported that medics responded to South Boulevard near Archdale Drive before 7 p.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers arrived at the scene around 6:30 p.m., finding the man near the Norfolk Southern train tracks, with initial reports coming from the 6100 block of South Boulevard, according to QC News. By 9:30 p.m., CMPD had classified the case as a homicide. While a dispute at a local business is believed to have led to the shooting, the victim’s identity and any potential suspects have not been released.
