Authorities in Houston are investigating a deadly crash that happened last Friday around 5:45 a.m. on the 5400 block of East Freeway. Police report that a white Honda Accord ran a stop sign on Solo Street, crossed the feeder road, went airborne, landed on the freeway and immediately caused a chain of collisions involving several vehicles, according to the City of Houston.
The crash resulted in one person being pronounced dead at the scene and multiple people suffering critical injuries. HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division has taken over the investigation and is working to determine what led to the initial violation and the events that followed, as reported by the City of Houston.
A 43-year-old woman driving a Honda died at the scene of a freeway crash in Houston. Her identity is still being confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. A male driver and a female passenger in a white Chevrolet Silverado were critically injured and taken to a hospital. The drivers of a white Chevrolet van and a blue Chevrolet Silverado were also hospitalized. The Houston Fire Department responded, and the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact them, as stated by the City of Houston.
