Houston hosted a celebration recognizing Texas restaurants featured in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide. Eighteen restaurants earned one MICHELIN Star and four received MICHELIN Green Stars for sustainability, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.

Governor Abbott said the guide’s renewed spotlight affirms Texas’ strong and diverse culinary scene. According to the Office of the Texas Governor, the food sector contributes over $199 billion to the state economy and supports more than 1.3 million jobs.

Texas officials announced that 140 restaurants in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio were included in this year’s MICHELIN Guide. Travel Texas, part of the Governor's Economic Development and Tourism Office, supported the effort along with visitor bureaus and business groups that promote the state as a travel destination. Travel Texas Director Tim Fennell stated, “MICHELIN Guide’s presence in Texas elevates our state on the global culinary stage and inspires travelers to discover the people and places that make Texas dining one of a kind," as mentioned by the Office of the Texas Governor.
