According to KPRC 2, the first shooting occurred at 1:15 p.m. on Dairy Ashford Road near US 90 in Sugar Land, where a driver was fatally shot. The gunman, having fled the scene, initiated two subsequent fatal shootings in southwest Houston.
As the authorities pieced together the crime scenes, they discovered the shooter's rampage took him to a mechanic business on Fondren Road, where at 1:45 p.m. two individuals were gunned down in a drive-by shooting. Sugar Land Police Department and the Fort Bend District Attorney’s Office investigators have been reported responding to the scene of the first incident by KPRC 2.
The violence concluded at approximately 2:00 p.m., only 2.9 miles away from the second shooting, on Creekbend Drive. There, the suspected gunman reportedly turned the weapon on himself and was pronounced dead by the Houston police at the scene, stopping the deadly spree that he had started, as stated in a KPRC 2 report.
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating a separately reported traffic incident on Dairy Ashford near US 90. A Mazda SUV was found crashed off-road, leading to a significant police presence and road closures, as noted in the ongoing coverage by KHOU. However, officials have confirmed that there is "no active threat to the public" but advised drivers to avoid the area while the investigation continues, despite not releasing details about potential injuries or the nature of the crash. The connection, if any, between this crash and the shootings has not been clarified.
