The accident, which took place at 900 East Loop North at about 7:30 a.m., resulted from the vehicle beginning to roll forward as the driver attempted to rectify mechanical issues after parking on the shoulder.
The victim, whose identity awaits notification of his family by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, lost his life at the scene despite the immediate response by the Houston Fire Department paramedics.
