In what could be termed a swift response by law enforcement, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office apprehended an armed suspect last Saturday. Victor Rodriguez, identified as the suspect, had made threats to harm a deputy constable via a call to the Crisis Hotline. On receipt of the information, deputies quickly mobilized to track down Rodriguez to prevent any potential act of violence against their colleague.
According to a Facebook post by the Precinct 4 Constable's Office, an extensive search was immediately launched to locate and successfully detain the suspect. Rodriguez was found in the 13100 block of FM 1960 Road West. He was arrested and taken into custody without any further incident, showcasing the ability of the deputies to effectively neutralize a threat before it could escalate any further.
The ongoing investigation unearthed that Rodriguez was already wanted on prior charges. "Victor Rodriguez had two open felony warrants for Aggravated Family Assault and Probation Violation for Family Assault Impeding Breath," as reported by the Constable's Office. Adding to his legal woes, Rodriguez was also charged with Retaliation due to the threats he made against the deputy constable.
In the aftermath of the arrest, Rodriguez faced the consequences of his actions in the judicial system. "Victor Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. His total bond was set at $95,000.00 out o the 262nd District Court," Constable Mark Herman stated in a Precinct 4 Facebook post. The arrest was one of several incidents highlighted on the precinct’s social media and mobile app, “C4 NOW,” which aims to keep the community informed about crime-related updates in the area.
