Last Tuesday evening, Leighaunah Guevara found herself in handcuffs after deputies stopped her for erratic driving in the 14800 block of Wunderlich Drive. Upon further investigation, it became glaringly apparent that Guevara was not simply struggling with the turns and lanes; she was driving while intoxicated.
Constable Mark Herman's Office reported that the deputies observed Guevara displaying signs of intoxication, a situation made all the more dire as her four young children were in the car alongside her – among them a three-month-old infant.
According to the authorities, a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were carried out, affirming the suspicions of intoxication. "Leighaunah Guevara was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated with Child Passenger," Constable Herman stated in an official communication on the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Facebook page. Her bond was set at $20,000.00 out of the 182nd District Court.
Constable Herman's Office, through their online platforms, continues to disseminate such incidents in real-time, providing updates on the community's safety landscape.
