Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 12:55 a.m. last Saturday on the 1300 block of East 29th Street. A 51-year-old man was found dead behind a convenience store from at least one gunshot wound, with his identity not yet released pending family notification, according to the City of Houston.
The HPD Homicide Division, led by Detectives J. Smith and K. Hale, is handling the investigation. Officers are working to determine the events that led to the man’s death, as reported by the City of Houston.
Law enforcement detained a 35-year-old man at the scene in connection with a shooting. "He was taken into custody on a charge of unlawful carry of a weapon while intoxicated," as stated by the City of Houston. The Houston Police Department is continuing its investigation and is asking the public for help.
