A single-vehicle crash on the 7400 block of West Sam Houston Tollway North on Monday led to the arrest of Tacara Benson on multiple charges. According to the Harris County Constable's Office Facebook page, Benson showed signs of intoxication at the scene. When paramedics and deputies attempted to assist, she became combative, throwing objects and resisting arrest.
Deputies stated that field sobriety tests could not be conducted due to safety concerns. At the hospital, Benson allegedly struck a deputy with a closed fist, causing pain.
She was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Assault on a Peace Officer. Her bond was set at $10,100, split between the 351st District Court and County Court 1.
