
Chaos erupted at a Houston apartment complex last night after a drive-by shooting incident left an innocent bystander injured, according to the Houston Police Department. FOX 26 Houston reports that the woman was enjoying dinner outside her apartment with family at the Cedar Glen Apartments when the shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m.
The violence unfolded when a man was chased through the apartment complex's parking lot, seemingly the intended target for the shooter or shooters in a vehicle that accelerated on Glenmont Drive. During the disturbance, which shattered the evening calm, a bullet reached the stomach of the woman, Lt. Ali said in a statement acquired by KHOU. She was subsequently rushed to a local hospital and, as of the latest updates, is expected to survive the attack.
No other injuries have been reported at this time. Houston Police Department has launched an investigation into the shooting, with efforts to identify those responsible for the violence which penetrated the family's routine. Surveillance video from the surrounding area is currently under review in hopes of pinpointing the shooter or shooters involved.
