
The Honolulu Police Department has reported a series of gambling busts that led to the seizure of 50 gambling machines, illicit drugs, firearms, and thousands of dollars in cash. According to the official social media post by HPD, the operations took place in Kalihi, with consecutive raids carried out between October 20 and 22.
The first search warrant executed on Puʻuhale Road involved numerous HPD divisions, including the Narcotics Vice and Specialized Services divisions. During their operation, the officers found a stolen firearm, 12 gambling machines, illicit drugs, and cash amounting to more than $6,000. In a simultaneous raid at a separate location, two ghost guns were found, in addition to 26 gambling machines and over $14,000 in cash, with one male arrested. Assisting the Narcotics Vice Division, the District 4 and District 5 Crime Reduction Units also participated in raiding the illegal Makuahine Street gambling room.
Two days later, a third gambling establishment on Kahaha Street was raided by the Narcotics Vice Division along with the District 5 Crime Reduction Unit. Officers discovered 12 more gambling machines, additional illicit drugs, and over $4,000 in cash during the intervention.
