The Irving Police Department took to social media to express their pride in Officer Carter, who was recently honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for his ongoing efforts to enforce DWI laws. This recognition is not unprecedented, as Officer Carter has previously been acknowledged for his dedication to keeping the roads safe from impaired drivers, as per the Irving Police Department.
In this latest commendation, the Irving Police Department was quick to also highlight the achievements of another one of their own, Officer Burres. He was awarded the Game Changer Award, a testament to the impact he has made. Burres shared this moment with his daughter, who was recognized with a leadership award for her contributions to the State Park Police. "We are just MADD about our DWI Unit!" exclaimed the Irving Police Department in their online celebration of these honors.
The accolades for the officers come as part of MADD's broader mission to prevent drunk driving, support those affected by it, and push for stricter legislation around alcohol-impaired driving. The recognition of law enforcement personnel, such as Officer Carter and Officer Burres, is an integral part of MADD's efforts to underline the critical role that dedicated officers play in their initiatives.
