A motorcyclist has died following a traffic accident in Jacksonville yesterday. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. near the intersection of Bulls Bay Highway and Ocala Avenue. News4Jax reported that a Toyota pickup truck driven by an elderly woman traveling south on Bulls Bay Highway collided with a motorcyclist heading east on Ocala Avenue, throwing the rider from the motorcycle.
Jacksonville Fire Rescue transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where the individual was pronounced dead. WOKV noted that this marks the 129th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 32nd involving a motorcyclist. Authorities stated that the driver of the pickup truck is cooperating with investigators. Bulls Bay Highway at Ocala Avenue was temporarily closed while detectives processed the scene.
