The City of Janesville has announced its leaf collection schedule, set to run from November 10 to 21. Residents are advised to review the updated map on the City of Janesville's website for changes, including the removal of Saturday routes. Crews will visit each street once, with dates marking the earliest expected collection. Delays may occur depending on weather or workload.

Residents should move trash carts away from the curb on collection days and avoid parking on the street to allow crews access. Leaves should be piled on the terrace and not raked into the street before Saturday. One to two days before collection, leaves may be placed in the street, but residents are asked to keep storm drains clear to prevent flooding. Street sweepers will follow collection crews to remove remaining debris.

Specialized vacuum trucks may collect leaves ahead of schedule. Only loose leaves should be placed curbside, as sticks or other debris can damage the equipment. Crews will still return on the regular collection date to complete the process.

From December 1 to 5, the City will collect bagged yard waste and bundled brush alongside regular trash. Yard waste should be in paper biodegradable bags or reusable containers under 50 pounds. Brush bundles must be no more than 4 feet long, 12 inches thick, and under 50 pounds. Items should be placed at the curb, a few feet from trash carts, by 7 a.m. on collection day.

Residents can also use yard waste as mulch, compost at home, or drop materials off at the City compost site. Larger items, such as stumps and brush, can be disposed of at the demolition landfill for a fee based on volume.
