The station, located at 1703 Concord Lake Rd, invites everyone, especially children, to explore and learn during this casual, informative gathering.
Following the footsteps of its predecessor built in 1967 on Florida Avenue, which was confined to a modest 3,200 square feet, today's Fire Station 3 boasts a more robust presence with its 11,000 square feet. Making room for eight bedrooms and equipped with four bathrooms, the much-needed expansion, completed in 2022, signifies a material commitment to the safety and efficacy of Kannapolis's first responders.
At the heart of the open house will be the tours led by the firefighters themselves, offering a unique insight into their daily lives and operations. The station houses two larger bays and represents a strategic position that enhances the department's capability to respond rapidly to emergencies in this sector of the city.
