Public transportation on Kauaʻi is taking a step towards a greener future with the addition of new Battery Electric Buses (BEBs). Details of these advancements will be discussed at a community outreach event hosted by The Kauaʻi Bus. Scheduled for this Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., the gathering will take place at the Kapaʻa Neighborhood Center, situated at 4491 Kou Street in Kapaʻa.
During the event, as they introduce the new BEBs, organizers will highlight their role in supporting The Kauaʻi Bus Short Range Transit Plan and Kauaʻi Multimodal Land Transportation Plan. Encouraging participation from all community members, they are invited to contribute their thoughts and opinions on this initiative and other matters related to public transportation. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits these electric buses can bring to their daily commutes and the island's environment.
Residents requiring assistance can reach out to ensure their needs are accommodated. The announcement also details that, upon request, the notice can be provided in various alternate formats, such as large print, Braille, or electronic copy.
