KB Home, the Los Angeles-based homebuilder, has expanded its footprint in Queen Creek by acquiring land earmarked for a significant residential project. The newly acquired parcel will give rise to Olea Groves, a master-planned community that is slated to house 500 homes across a 115-acre site at the northeast corner of Meridian and Combs roads, ABC 15 reported.
Adjacent to the popular Queen Creek Olive Mill, the development aims to integrate with the surrounding area's agritainment culture, and as Ryan Bashaw, president of KB Home’s Phoenix division, told ABC15, "Olea is olive in Italian." Bashaw outlined plans for pedestrian pathways offering direct access to the Olive Mill and the nearby Schnepf Farms, alongside connections to Queen Creek's extensive multi-use trail systems. Olea Groves seems to be positioned as a community conscious of Queen Creek's agritainment heritage and its growing appeal.
The residential development by KB Home in Queen Creek also stands out for its price positioning. The homes in Olea Groves are being marketed as less expensive than current existing homes in the area, which indicates a potential shift in housing affordability within the locale, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
