During a patrol at around 6:00 a.m. yesterday, Kent Police Department Officer Joss arrested three individuals in a downtown park that was closed at the time.

As per the Kent Police Department's Facebook post, one suspect, a 51-year-old Kent man, provided a false name and birth date. Using a portable AFIS fingerprint scanner, officers identified him and discovered he had an outstanding no-bail warrant for escaping community custody and failing to register as a sex offender. He was also found in possession of a significant amount of methamphetamine.

A 25-year-old Buckley man in the group had an active Auburn warrant for drug charges totaling $5,100. Another individual, a 38-year-old from Kent, had two warrants totaling $6,300 for criminal trespass and possession of controlled substances. All three were arrested and booked into jail without incident.

The Kent Police Department encouraged those struggling with drug use to seek assistance, directing individuals in crisis to call 988 for 24/7 support and providing a link to local treatment resources.
