
Lakewood authorities are calling for public assistance to locate a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident that left one driver injured. According to a social media post from the Lakewood Police Department, a vehicle was rear-ended by a compact SUV that subsequently fled the scene. The collision occurred on September 24, around 6:24 pm, near the intersection of W Yale Ave and W Jewell Ave.
The vehicle in question, described by witnesses as a 2010s light green or beige compact SUV, likely a Lincoln, was last seen heading southbound on W Yale Ave. Fleeing the scene, the suspect vehicle has been reported as having a partial Colorado license plate beginning with "GL". The injured driver who remained was attended to at the scene, unfortunately bearing the brunt of the unidentified driver's irresponsible actions.
Details regarding the suspect have been sparse but suggestive. The driver of the suspect vehicle is said to be a White female, approximately 70 years old, with distinguishing short gray hair and glasses. The Lakewood Police Department has released photos of the vehicle believed to be involved in the accident to aid in the identification of the suspect.
