Looking for a way to get into the Halloween spirit? The Las Cruces Public Library has got you covered with an interactive "House of Dracula" event at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library. On October 31, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., participants can expect a variety of spooky activities tailored for both the brave at heart and those who prefer a milder fright.
The Bram Stoker-inspired experience invites guests to navigate the dwelling of Dracula, where they can sample "Renfield's treats," brew a "slimy elixir" to ward off monsters, and capture the moment in Dracula's notorious armchair, according to Las Cruces Public Libraries. For families and individuals looking for a daylight adventure, creature encounters are on the roster between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. Hopefully, you emerge without a scratch and a tale to tell.
Those with a lower tolerance for terror are encouraged to visit earlier in the Halloween week. From October 27 to October 30, the library is hosting less frightening tours, ensuring that younger audiences can also enjoy the gothic literary immersion without the extra scares.
