
Municipal Court Judge Susan Roger will retire on November 4 after 14 years on the bench. She has served as the presiding judge of Department 2 since 2011. Before joining the court, she worked at the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, starting in 2000, according to the City of Las Vegas.
With Judge Roger’s departure, the Las Vegas City Council will select her replacement. The City of Las Vegas announced that details of the selection process will be discussed during the October 15 City Council meeting. Applicants interested in the position can now apply online through the Interim Municipal Judge application portal.
The City of Las Vegas announced that a new judge will be appointed on an interim basis to replace Judge Roger, who has retired. The appointee will serve until the next general election in 2026. Under the Nevada Revised Statutes, the City Council “must select a replacement judge by Dec. 4, 2025.” Information about the application and selection process is available on the official City of Las Vegas bulletin.
