From September 15 to November 14, Las Vegas residents can pay off parking tickets by donating new, unwrapped toys or games of equal or greater value. Donations and receipts must be brought to the Parking Services Offices at 350 S. City Parkway within 30 days of the citation, or toys can be purchased and shipped directly to the office with the ticket number, according to the City of Las Vegas.
The City Council approved the ordinance for this charitable program in July 2016, with amendments in February 2023 allowing the city manager to run it. This year, donations include family-friendly games, gift cards, toys, and stocking stuffers for children aged 6 months to 18 years, as reported by the City of Las Vegas.
Qualifying infractions for the program include overtime meter, restricted time zone, and parking over 72 hours. Ticket holders can check eligibility by calling 702-229-4700. Collected toys will be distributed to families in need through Nevada Behavioral Health, as stated by the City of Las Vegas.
