Outdoor enthusiasts and local commuters, take note: a key part of your landscape is going under the proverbial knife. Starting November 4, the City of League City has announced a closure of a trail segment at Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside, particularly affecting those who frequent the pathways for their daily activities. City officials stated the temporary inconvenience is due to necessary paving and slope repairs on the Bay Area Boulevard bridge.
This isn't just a small detour, but a fairly significant interruption for the regulars. The closure hits a trail that snakes alongside Magnolia Creek, right at the underpass of the aforementioned bridge. For the trail-users of Countryside Park, and let's be real, the homeowners in adjacent neighborhoods such as Countryside subdivision? Their direct park access will be cut off for, give or take, a month and a half—weather and construction gods permitting.
The repair work is expected to last four to six weeks, requiring residents to use alternate routes. City officials have apologized for any inconvenience and encourage the community to stay updated on the progress.
